The Second Turkic Integration Olympiad Will Be Held

The 2nd Turkic Integration Olympiad (TIO) is an academic competition for school students from Turkic states and national communities.

This Olympiad aims to foster the awareness of the slogan "Unity in Language, Thought, and Work" among Turkic nations and to bring young generations together through education.

TIO is based on the Friendship of Sciences Olympiad (FDO), which was established in 2009 by Hedef Publishing, a company within the Hedef Group of Companies. Over 14 editions of FDO have taken place, with questions designed in an integrative format, combining elements from 2 to 5 subjects. In TIO, at least one subject in each question will be related to the geography, literature, history, culture, or shared scientific heritage of the Turkic world.

Objectives of the Olympiad:

  • Supporting the idea of a common language, alphabet, and textbooks among Turkic nations;
  • Creating and sharing a common knowledge base among school students of the Turkic world;
  • Promoting cooperation between young people of Turkic nations through TIO;
  • Enhancing awareness of unity in action, language, and effort among Turkic nations while showcasing their shared cultural heritage.

Scope of the Olympiad:

The Olympiad will include students from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Tatarstan, Crimea, Karachays, Gagauzia, Chuvashia, Uzbekistan, Bulgaria, Bashkortostan, Altai, Tuva, Sakha-Yakutia, Khakassia, Western Thrace, East Turkestan (Uyghur region), South Azerbaijan, Kirkuk Turks, Borchali (Georgia), and other regions.

Participation Requirements:

  • Each Turkic-speaking country will organize its own selection stage.
  • Students scoring above 40% in the selection stage will qualify for the final.
  • Eligible participants must be at least 13 years old and no older than 16 years old by the final registration date.

Olympiad Stages:

  • National Selection Round – will be held online on April 6, 2025, by each participating country.
  • Final Round – will take place on May 3, 2025, in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Participants will answer 20 questions within 60 minutes. Scoring will be based on the difficulty level of the questions:

  • 5 easy questions – 4 points each
  • 10 intermediate questions – 5 points each
  • 5 difficult questions – 6 points each
  • Maximum score: 100 points

Organizers:

The Olympiad is organized by Hedef Group of Companies, TÜRKSOY, the Azerbaijan Atatürk Center, Kazakhstan Turan University, and Eastern Mediterranean University.

The event will be funded and supported by organizers and partner institutions.
