The Winners of the “A Martyr’s Book” Competition Have Been Awarded

On February 26 – the Day of Remembrance of the Khojaly martyrs – the winners of the essay-writing competition “A Martyr’s Book,” jointly organized by Hedef Group of Companies and the Absheron District Executive Authority, were awarded.

Before the event began, the dear memory of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was honored with a minute of silence, and the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.

At the event, Executive Director of Hedef Lyceums Nizami Huseynov, Head of the Department for Territorial Organization and Socio-Political Issues of the Absheron District Executive Authority Gulnar Rahimova, Aygun Isayeva – the wife of martyr Tabriz Isayev – and parent Jeyhun Salmanov delivered speeches. The speakers emphasized that honoring the sacred memory of martyrs is a moral duty of every citizen.

It was noted that the glorious Victory achieved by our army in the 44-day Patriotic War under the leadership of the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, is one of the most heroic pages in our history. It was especially highlighted that this Victory laid the foundation for the Great Return to Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, bringing new life and revival to the liberated territories. It was also underlined that the revenge for the innocent Khojaly martyrs was taken by our army on the battlefield.

It was stated that the “A Martyr’s Book” project, which has been consistently implemented at Hedef Lyceum for several years, makes a significant contribution to fostering patriotism among the younger generation. This year, a total of 75 students participated in the project, including 60 from schools in the Absheron district. Dozens of stories and books dedicated to our martyrs, as well as an electronic book, were prepared. The ideas, texts, and designs of the books were created through the students’ own effort and creativity.

As part of the event, students presented literary and artistic compositions, recited poems in the spirit of heroism, performed patriotic songs, and staged short performances. The exhibition of the newly published books attracted great interest from the participants.

At the end of the event, diplomas, gifts, and plaques were presented to the winners and runners-up of the competition, and commemorative photos were taken. The participants once again emphasized that the sacred memory of the martyrs will live forever in the memory of our people and will serve as an example for future generations.
