One of the new teaching initiatives at Hedef STEAM Lyceum is the "Be a Student, I'll Be the Teacher!" project, which aims to foster mutual understanding and appreciation among young learners, strengthen student-teacher relationships, instill empathy, and promote teamwork. It’s a peer-to-peer approach where young learners engage directly in the learning experience.
For the 2024-2025 academic year, the first “Bilgə Teacher” was Fatime Jafarli, a student from class 2A3. As a “Bilgə Teacher,” she presented a lesson on the STEAM technology subject to her peers. First, she explained the topic of "mBlock," detailing the blocks used in the mBlock program and each block's control settings. She then demonstrated how to create an animation of a moving car using these blocks, incorporating sound blocks and backgrounds.
After her explanations, she guided her classmates through individual and paired tasks, helping them apply what they had learned. She collaborated closely with her subject teacher, recording advice and suggestions to enhance her teaching approach. Thanks to the learning experience from “Bilgə Teacher,” students not only achieved successful results but also enjoyed and learned from the experience!
The objectives of our project are:
